With a fleet of 90 tractors spread over 3 states, hiring CDL drivers remained the most demanding part of the business.
The American Trucking Association estimates that the 2021 driver shortage capped at 80,000 drivers. This impact left many contractors on the verge of losing their business, some that have been operating since FedEx Ground first established.
After years of research into the best job platforms, procedures, and systems, we started Square One Recruiting with the mission of placing qualified drivers in the seats of FedEx Ground contractors.

My name is Jessica Meadows.
You know the cliche saying "If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life"? Well, that's recruiting for me. I come from a sales background and never really enjoyed selling objects that weren't a necessity to the customer. Don't get me wrong, I was good at my job, but I wanted to do more.
Enter recruiting. I was presented with the opportunity to work for a contractor in Nashville, TN, as the Director of Recruiting and instantly fell in love with the job. I was selling careers to those in need and ultimately bettering the lives of them and their families. Over the past 7 years of recruiting within the FedEx network, I have created a system that works, every time. Thus, the idea for Square One Recruiting was born.
My name is Annaston Boger.
I come from a family background of sales, and I have also found a love for it. Recruiting is a way for me to use my outgoing personality to connect with drivers and get contractors what they need. I was born and raised in a small town north of Nashville TN. So, if you ever get to talk to me, you’ll hear it immediately with my accent. I’ve loved every part of this journey and I can’t wait to continue it and see where it takes me.

Not only does Square One help you start from the beginning, but it helped me when I was back at Square One. I have worked in marketing, sales, and in the dental field. I believe that all the knowledge I have learned and the experiences I have gained over the last few years has helped me excel at recruiting. I genuinely enjoy talking to all the contractors and getting to know them personally and their companies. I talk to tons of drivers and love hearing their stories about their experiences, families, and lives. Nothing is better than being able to find them a great job with one of our amazing contractors.
First off, we will sit down and establish your driver needs, routes, pay, benefits, locations, etc. Start off with the basics, of course!
Then, we will establish if you would like to participate in the Lead Generator package or the Full Cycle recruiting package.
With the Lead Generator package, your job(s) will be published to multiple platforms and social media sites to attract applicants. Once applications begin to pile in, they will be individually screened to ensure FedEx basic requirements are met. Those applicants who pass the initial screening will be sent to you as they are filtered through. Quality over quantity, right? We can deliver both.
The Full Cycle recruiting is the ultimate package! Like the Lead Generator, we will establish your driver need, and I will get to work! Your job will be advertised, candidates screened, called, and I will process them through the FADV system. Once the driver is through the background process and drug test is complete, I will send them to you for the road test portion. Once road test is complete, I will submit all documentation and the driver will be sent back to you, ready to dispatch! It's that easy.
